1953 La Conseillante One bottle only. A five star year, with many wines still drinking well. These bottles were bottled by Averys of Bristol; they should be none the worse for that, and they cerainly work out less expensive that the chateau bottled. £95 1
1961 Margaux 3 bottles available. Badly soiled labels, with levels at mid to upper shoulder. Considered by many to be the greatest year of the 20th century, together with 1945, this wine is given five stars by Broadbent, and is one of the greats of the vintage. £550 3
1966 Brane Cantenac Three bottles available. I have tasted this wine frequently over the years and it has always been consistantly good.Still drinking well. £105 3
1970 Phelan Segur 8 bottles available. A very good year, which, perhaps, did not quite live up to expectations.This is a cru bourgeois exceptionnel, and looks good. £40 8
1971 Grand-Mayne This is a DOUBLE MAGNUM. Label and level are good. I tasted this wine in this format about three years ago, and it was full of fruit and still youthful. £220
1975 Lagrange. 11 bottles available. A difficult year in which Lagrange made a very reasonable wine. Tasted recently it was a bit vegetal on the nose, but given time in the glass it improved no end. It may not be a great wine but quality came through eventually. £30 11
1982 Certan de May 4 bottles available. Now at its peak, and a wonderful mouthful. Excellent levels into neck make this Pomerol a good buy for that upcoming dinner party. £230 4
1983 Grand-Puy-Lacoste 8 bottles available, all with excellent labels and levels. One of the best wines of the year, given four stars by Broadbent. A lovely wine, now at its peak. £60 8
1986 Pichon longueville Baron 4 bottles available. Considered by Parker to be the best Baron up to that time. This is a rich full bodied wine, just approaching its peak. £70 4
1989 Meyney 9 bottles available. Awarded 90 points by Parker, a great score for a Cru bourgeois, he considers it one of the finest Meyneys ever produced.A long and flavoursome life ahead. £48 9
1989 Saint-Pierre 3 bottles available. This classed growth St Julien is an opulent , high alcohol wine, which is ready now. £38
1990 Pichon-Longueville, Lalande 12 bottles available. A great year and a very good wine. A lovely nose, deep and mature loking, a very impressive wine which is drinking well now £95
